UW Women's Water Polo Tryouts Next Wednesday October 5th

UW Huskies at CWPA Nationals

The University of Washington Women's Water Polo Club will be hosting open tryouts next Wednesday, October 5th at 6:30pm - 9pm. The tryout will be at the Hec Edmundson Pavilion Pool on campus.

If you are interested in continuing to play water polo and further develop in the sport, then the UW club team is a great opportunity. Practice obligations range between 5-9 hours per week while the team trains from September - May. The official season begins in Winter quarter but there are tournaments throughout the year the team travels to including California, Canada and Washington.

If you've never played before or your experience in the sport is limited, come visit us and see what the program is all about. Usually all that is required is having a swimming background. This year we will have two teams; a senior team as well as a development team geared towards ramping up players quickly in the sport. So there will be plenty of playing opportunities for everyone.

Tryouts on Wednesday will consist of a brief swim and leg conditioning set, a quick passing and shooting drill, followed by 90 minutes of scrimmage.

Those interested in joining the team should visit our Prospective Players page and fill out the new player questionnaire. Otherwise feel free to contact head coach, Rudy Ramirez, with any questions or concerns at info@uwwaterpolo.com. If you can't make the tryout time, please contact us to make other arrangements.

See you on Wednesday!
