The University of Washington Women's Water Polo Club needs your help. For the first time since 2003, the team has qualified for the CWPA Collegiate Club National Championships which will be in Santa Cruz, California May 6th-8th.
As excited as we are about winning the division and qualifying, it puts a tremendous financial burden on the players. As a club sport, the Women's water polo team at the UW is primarily self-funded, with the players paying hundreds of dollars each in dues for travel, equipment and tournament fees. Nationals alone puts an estimated $6,000 additional burden on the players.
That's why we're asking for your help by making a tax-deductible donation that 100% goes directly to the team.
We've been working hard to secure the funds since we first found out we qualified just a few weeks ago. We held an alumnae game last weekend, have been selling shirts online, hand-wrote letters to our friends and families. And with so much support from so many, we are really close to our goal.
Any donation amount, whether big or small, will go a long-way in helping the program. We've made it a mission to never prevent a player from participating on the team due to financial burden. The coaches, we all do this pro-bono, because we love what we do. It doesn't get any better than having the opportunity to teach a group of hard-working, extremely talented players with the kindest hearts. It's a privilege to work with them day and day out and that's why I'm asking for your help to make sure every one of them can reap the rewards of their tremendous hard work.
